Experience the Italy you’ve always pictured, without the crowds! Abruzzo sits just east of Rome and delivers on every front — medieval hilltop villages, mountain landscapes, wine, olive oil, fresh seafood — yet it remains one of the country’s best kept secrets, even as Italians have long loved to vacation here. On this journey you’ll travel from the highlands of the Gran Sasso to the Adriatic coast, taking in dramatic castles, saffron fields, hand-painted ceramics made the same way for generations, and one of the most iconic stretches of coastline in Italy.
Why You'll Love It
- Quintessential Italy, without the crowds
- Rugged mountain views, relaxing coastal drives, and charming medieval towns, all at a relaxing pace
- Delicious tastings of local saffron, cheese, olive oil, and red wine, plus a cooking class to try your hand at regional dishes
- An itinerary designed by Ciao Andiamo’s co-owners, Max and Cristiana, to showcase a region they love, with Max as your personal tour leader on the ground
