Head to Norcia
Buongiorno Italia! Meet your group and tour leader in Rome. Travel towards Norcia with a stop en route in the small medieval town of Scheggino, where you will explore the town on foot, visit the truffle museum, and enjoy a light lunch with truffles. If time allows, stop and see the Marmore Waterfall, the tallest in all of Europe. In the afternoon, arrive at your accommodations in Norcia and settle in before enjoying a group dinner.
Following breakfast at your hotel, make your way to a cooking class with a starred chef in town where you’ll learn how to prepare classic local recipes, then feast on the fruits of your labor for lunch. Then enjoy the afternoon with your tour leader exploring the south-eastern part of Umbria. You will visit Castelluccio, where Umbria borders Le Marche, and experience a cheese tasting in the countryside and a relaxed hike through the Umbrian hills. Return to Norcia in the evening and dine in a Michelin-starred restaurant for dinner.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head towards Montefalco with a stop in a winery near Spoleto for an extended tour and a wine tasting with a light lunch. After lunch, arrive in Montefalco and check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening on your own.
A Day in Assisi
In the morning, head to the town of Assisi for a guided tour of the magnificent Basilica di San Francesco, Eremo delle Carceri, and Santa Maria degli Angeli with time to explore the village on your own. Meet up with your tour leader again and drive to Spello for lunch in one of our favorite enotecas and time on your own for a bit of shopping. Enjoy dinner with your group at a local pizzeria.
Sweet in Perugia
After breakfast, head to Perugia for a walking tour and chocolate-making class where you can taste world-renowned chocolate. Then spend time strolling the city and having lunch before returning to Montefalco to enjoy dinner on your own.
Truffles & Cashmere
After breakfast, experience a truffle hunt in the nearby wooded area, then enjoy a light lunch before heading to the small village of Bevagna, followed by a stop at a local cashmere producer. Enjoy the evening on your own before heading back to Montefalco for a group dinner centered around the jewel of the region: truffle.
