Ciao Andiamo allowed us to discover Italy in ways we never imagined possible. We will continue to use them any time we return to Italy.
When the company’s founder, Jon, first conceived Ciao Andiamo, his vision was to offer something completely unique for travelers visiting Italy. Not the cookie cutter, tourist experience; but real, authentic, insider adventures.
The chance to discover Italy through local eyes, from food, wine and culture to history, art and the natural beauty that transcends Italy. This mission, together with our passion for all things Italian, our careful curation of best-in-class local experts & experiences, and our service-oriented mindset, is what sets us apart.
And with dual offices in New York and Italy, we are here to provide you with expert guidance as you plan, and right alongside you in Italy to help in any way we can while you are traveling.
We offer a variety of services to meet the myriad needs of our travelers.
For those interested in a fully private experience, we offer a collection of trips that have been carefully crafted by our expert team, or the chance to tailor-make an itinerary from scratch. All of our trips include personalized accommodations, private guided excursions, transfers and dedicated planning guidance with an Italy expert.
For travelers seeking a 24/7 guide and insider access to local experiences at the greatest value, we recommend joining one of our insider journeys. These excursions span various regions throughout Italy, with a focus on food, wine and culture. As we want each trip to be personal and authentic, we limit the size of each group to a maximum of 7 travelers with a dedicated tour leader throughout.
While ages, geographies and interests can vary, what unites our travelers is that they are savvy, culturally curious, and in search of an immersive Italy adventure full of authentic discovery and local experiences. Some look to do so while enjoying the highest level of luxury and comfort, while others prefer simpler accommodations, full of character and charm.
Our travelers include couples (sometimes celebrating a special occasion such as a honeymoon or anniversary); families & friends; solo adventurers; first timers in search of Italy’s finest; and seasoned Italy explorers looking to journey to harder-to-reach, untapped regions.
As we are a full-service travel outfitter, we develop each itinerary as a comprehensive package that includes the best market rates for hotels; top-of-the-line excursions with carefully curated guides, drivers and local experts; transfers; as well as our dedicated services providing trip-planning guidance and on-the-ground support as needed.
For itineraries from our trip collection, there are no fees, just the listed trip pricing. You have the option to upgrade, add on additional experiences and services, or adjust the number of nights as desired. For more involved customization, such as adding on a new city or changing around the trip flow, a design fee of $55 per tailored travel day may apply.
For fully custom itineraries, please note that, after an initial phone consultation, the same design fee of $55 per day will apply to create a fully fleshed out trip plan from scratch. While pricing across custom itineraries can vary, our bespoke trips typically start at 450-550 EURO per person per day, inclusive of select accommodations, private excursions, transfers and our dedicated planning services.
While we do not provide pricing breakdowns, for those travelers who are planning part of their trip independently (rather than seeking a comprehensive itinerary plan), we can offer the alternative option to book excursions a carte, or to utilize our expert travel planning and concierge services at an hourly rate.
A number of our travelers come to Ciao Andiamo in search of a solo adventure to Italy. What we usually suggest for them is to join one of our insider journeys, which offer the greatest insider access at the best value for solo travelers.
Because our pricing for small group tours is based on double/twin room accommodations (shared by two people), we have to charge a single supplement to individual travelers requiring a private room. This single supplement is not marked up, but simply covers the per person cost difference between a private single room and a double room shared by two people.
Our expertise lies in everything soup to nuts once you are on the ground in Italy. We do, upon request, help with business / first class airfare for our travelers, as we often can access the best market rates through a third party agency partner.
For travelers looking to purchase economy class flights, we cannot match the best rates online, and thus do not book economy airfare. We are, however, always more than happy to take at flights you are considering and provide you with our opinion and guidance.
Our cancellation policy is as follows: trips are fully refundable, less a 25% of total trip price cancellation fee, if canceled more than 60 days before departure, subject to the refund policies of each hotel, airline, operator and other vendors. 50% of total trip price refundable if canceled 30 – 60 days before departure, subject to the refund policies of each hotel, airline, operator and other vendors. No refund less than 30 days before departure. Changes made to the itinerary after departure must be paid to Ciao Andiamo, LLC and are non-refundable. Please note that some vendors have onerous cancellation policies with substantial penalties for changes where funds paid are non-refundable. Ciao Andiamo, LLC strongly recommends comprehensive travel insurance including trip cancellation insurance. Please note deposits and fees are nonrefundable.
Before you depart, you will be put in contact with our dedicated on-the-ground Italy team, who will be on hand 24/7 (via email, phone, text or whatsapp) to help with any questions or issues that arise during your trip. And, of course, our team here in the U.S. will continue to be available to assist with anything you may need.
